In this approach, a single Artica server is in charge of retrieving databases from the Internet and translating them for the various services that can use them.
To do this, Artica will use the Rsync protocol to retrieve and transmit databases.This feature is available on Artica v4.50 Service Pack 1 or Artica v4.50 Hotfix 20241110-16
To implement this architecture, we'll need to enable the rsync service on the server storing the new updates, and tell the client servers to use Rsync to retrieve the new updates.
¶ Enable Rsync service on the Artica retreiver.
- On the left menu, go to
Your System > Featuressection - On the search field, type rsync
- Click on install button on the Rsync server row
- Once started, the service is immediately available to share the necessary resources.
- Check the networks, as the sharing service only accepts connections from trusted networks (
“Network” > “Your Networks”)
¶ Enable Rsync replication on Artica clients.
- On the left menu, go to
Databases > GeoIP bases - Click on the link “Update From an Artica server”
- Turn on the option to ON and give the address and port of the Artica retreiver server.
- A blue widget will confirm you that the client is ready to get updates.
