The boot manager is a new feature starting on v4.40 Service Pack 46, that allows you to skin the boot menu.
With the boot Manager you can:
- Change the menu color.
- Change the time to boot the system.
- Change the title menu
- Create a special recovery menu.
- Change the keyboard to Azerty.
¶ Where is the Boot manager ?
On the left menu, click on “Your system” > “System information”
Click on the label on the “Boot manager" row.
By default, the feature is enabled, so if you want to disable this feature, you have to turn ON the “Disabled” option.
- Time to Live: before booting the system, the boot manager wait for a period in order to choose to turn to rescue mode.
- Keyboard Azerty: if you use an azerty keyboard, by default the boot manager use a QWERTY keyboard.
- Menu title: The label of the menu that boot the system with Artica with 2 specific macro %hostname replaced by the current hostname of the server, and %ver that is the Artica version.
- Font color, Background color: are the skin of the boot menu.
¶ Booting in rescue mode without password:
In case of disk or boot failure, the system will boot in limited mode.
This mode will ask for the root password.
If you lost the password the system is lost forever.
This option allows you to start a console to change the root password.
