A system partition cannot be extended.
To do this, you can add a second hard disk and specify that logs will be saved on this second hard disk.
This will free up space on the system disk.This feature is available on Artica v4.50 Service Pack 1 or Artica v4.50 Hotfix 20240609-10
¶ Plug a new disk on your Artica server.
You can add a hot-swap disk without having to shut down your server.
Artica will be able to format it and create the partition.
¶ Format your hard drive.
- On the left menu, choose
Your system > Your hard disks - Choose the new plugged hard disk and click on the latest icon
- Set the label name of the hard disk before creating the partition.
¶ Move logs directory to the new disk.
- After formatting your hard disk, Artica connects the disk to the
/media/[label]directory. - On the left menu, go to “
Events Center > Legal Logs" - Click on the link System log directory
- Click on Browse button
- Navigate to your system disk and choose the mounted point under
mediadirectory
- The procedure will alwaysd add the "
/var/log" sub-directories of your choice. - Confirm the operation.
- After the process some intensive processes that using the log directory will be restarted ( eg Proxy service, syslog…)
