Artica users are concerned about Debian's announced end-of-life for version 10 support.
Here's the official statement from the Artica team regarding support for the next Debian release
Artica has validated support for the next LTS release of Debian 12 (Bookworm).
This version offers update support until June 30, 2028
Support for this new version is released on 2024-10-20 ( artica-full-4.50.000000.debian12-amd64.dvd.iso - 1.15G )
As soon as this new version was released, the Artica teams tested the performance of the proxy, reverse-proxy, SMTP relay and network features, and found no improvement in stability or performance.
Previously, upgrading from version 7.x to 10.x brought significant performance gains (30%) and improved network stability.
Given this principle and the fact that the cores software is updated and supplied by the Artica teams, there is no need to accelerate a new Debian version support.
For Debian 10 or Debian 7 users, there is no procedure to upgrade an already production system.
The procedure is as follows:
Yes, Artica is in LTS mode, i.e. 5 years of support where software will always be up to date even after the Debian non-support period.
Artica 4.50 Debian 10 ( artica-proxy-4.50.000000.debian10-amd64.dvd.iso ) is still supported until 2027
Since core software is still provided by Artica even after Debian support has ended, the risks are:
