This feature was added in Artica v4.40 Service Pack 33.
This feature allows you to override the hostname value inside the events sent to your log sink.
- Inside a remote logging rule ( “
Events Center” > “Syslog” > “Remote logging” ) - You have a specific field name “Displayed Hostname”
- This option is optional, if nothing is set, the hostname will be the hostname of the server.
- If you set a value, this value will be used as the hostname, you will see the override value inside the main table.
Notice: This option can be dangerous in a cluster environment. Indeed, all the servers in cluster share the same configuration and they will overload the same value.
All the events could then come from the same server while this is a lie.
