This article will help you install Artica SMTP on a Debian 10 system that has already been set up.
For example, on a VPS server.
Please note: even if Artica is installed on an already installed Debian system, avoid installing Artica on a mail server you're already using.This is because artica will modify the system as it sees fit, and you won't be able to go back.
So prefer an unmodified Debian system.
- Open an SSH section to your Debian installation
- Run these commands:
wget https://www.articatech.com/download/install-smtp-service.tar.gztar xf install-smtp-service.tar.gzchmod 0755 install-smtp-service./install-smtp-service - Confim the installation
- The setup will scan your system and list all required Debian packages required to run Artica SMTP appliance.
- After clicked on yes, the setup will perform mandatory Debian packages installation and peform the Artica installation
- The installer will ask you whether you wish to continue managing your network settings manually or have Artica manage them completely via its Web interface.
As a general rule, in the case of a VPS, there is no need for Artica to manage the network.
- The installer will proceed to the final stage of installation and build your appliance.
