The v4 branch is a stabilized branch of the proxy, it evolves very little but provides the most common features of the proxy service.
The v5 branch is an officially supported branch but is currently being consolidated.
¶ New 5.x features:
- Possibility to modify the authentication options by ACLs
- Real-time events and legal logs allow the display of ACL rules, which makes it possible to see which rule ensures an access or a ban
- Reuse reserved Negotiate and NTLM processes after an idle timeout.
- Support opening CONNECT tunnels through a proxy parent
¶ Upgrading to a 5.x branch version.
To upgrade to a 5.x branch, you need at least Artica v4.40, v4.30 SP206 and the latest HotFix or v4.30 and latest unstable Service Pack
With Artica, you are free to return back to v4.x branch
- On the Packages Center , search the entry “Proxy”
- Click on Install or Update button on the Proxy service 5.x row
- Choose the latest 5.x version and click on “Install or Upgrade” row.
