To reserve addresses in the DHCP service, meaning that you want specific devices to always receive the same IP address when they connect to the network, you can use reservations.
Reservations ensure that a specific MAC address or client identifier always gets the same IP address.
- The section “
Reservations” allow you to fix computers address. - To add a new reservation, click on new computer or search in the database is your computer is not already added.
- Set the MAC address of the computer.
- Select the DHCP service fort this computer
- Set the Hostname and the fixed IP address.
- If you go back to the workstation you've created, in the workstation file you'll find a DHCP section allowing you to define other parameters such as gateways and DNS that will be dedicated to this workstation.
