Artica PCAP filter supports the Maxmind free and commercial databases to provide information about a given public IP address.
¶ 1) Register to Maxmind
You will need a free GeoLite2 account to allow Artica PCAP to download the GeoLite2 databases.
This account will receive download access to GeoLite2 databases at no charge.
First, register using the Maxmind registration form
- In the email you receive, click the link to reset your password
- Reset your password
- Now log in to Maxmind
- On the left menu, click on “Manage License Keys”
- Click on the “Generate new license Key button”
- Set the name of the Key.
- Select option 1, which uses geoipupdate version 3.1.1 or newer
- Click the Confirm button
Copy the information about your Account/User ID and the License Key
