A common way to easily store log files is through third-party storage.
However, trusting and relying on them for security can be risky, or it can lead to a storage vendor lock-in.
This feature is available on Artica 4.30 Service Pack instable 917 or Artica v4.40
Note: If you enable the legal logs encryption:
- You will ne be able to search events in the history.
- Encrypt logs are out-of-scope of in cluster environnement.
¶ Now let’s see how Artica can encrypt log files automatically.
On the left menu, choose “Events Center” / “Legal Logs”
- Inside the parameters section, turn on the Encrypt Backup option and give a password ( with 32 characters minimal )
- Click on Apply button.
- Just after click on Apply, Artica will encrypt all backuped logs already stored in its disk and the option will be locked.
This means, if you want to change the password, you will need to decrypt all files before change the parameter.
¶ Decrypting logs.
If your legal logs are crypted, a new button “Decrypt backup” is displayed.
This button allows you to disable the encryption process and start the decryption of all your backuped crypted logs.
- Confirm the operation of decrypt backuped logs.
- Artica will parse all crypted logs backup and decrypt them in the background.
