How to upgrade the system ? | Use your local Debian mirror| Link Debian Mirror with the reverse-proxy
When using multiple Artica servers and also Debian systems, it is very interesting to build a local repository mirror on your local network, delegate an edge server for this job and configure the internal clients to fetch software from its cache mirror.
This feature is available on Artica 4.30 Service Pack Instable 905 or Artica v4.40
For a full mirror cache, your server needs at least 120G of free space reserved for local repositories.
Artica uses a dedicated web service to provide the packages.
This web server has been developed specifically for this purpose and only allows Debian update clients to download packages.
¶ Create a mirror
- On the left menu, choose “Your system” / “Update" / “APT Mirroring”
- On the left part of the section, click on “Enable” button
- Once installed, use the browse button to point the path to your partition that will store repositories.
- To run the update task, click on the run the update task now button.
- Country code: Select your country to get the nearest update sources.
- Download tasks: How many tasks will run at the same time to download sources.
- Download bandwidth (KiloBytes/s): Limit the download tasks download bandwidth.
- Buster (v10): Get update sources for Debian 10
- Bullseye (v11): Get Update sources for Debian 11 ( require 100GB more space disk )
- Update each: Set the interval to check updates
