The DNS Cache memory database backend is a on-memory database with data persistence.
This service is able to increase the performance of your DNS Cache service and allows you to persist data stored.
In this case, restarting the DNS Cache service will not flush the entire database of your DNS service.
The DNS Cache memory database backend is available on Artica v4.30 Service Pack 60 or above.
¶ Install the DNS Cache memory database backend feature
First, ensure you using the latest version of your DNS Cache service (1.11.x or above ). Upgrade using this procedure.
- On the left menu Click on "Your system" and "features"
- On the Search field, type "DNS Cache"
- Click on Install button under the "DNS Cache memory database backend"
If you encounter an error, and if you see "Incompatible feature" in the installation events, this means you did not have upgraded your main DNS cache service version.
¶ Display the status of the Memory Cache database
- On the left menu, click on DNS and DNS Cache service
- You will see the status of the database service.
- Click on DNS Cache memory database Backend tab
- You will see the number of records saved in the cache database.
