To use this feature, you need the Active Directory feature installed and use Artica v4.30 Service Pack 207 or above.
When enabling the Active Directory feature, The DNS cache service provide a new button “Active Directory” in its DNS records database:
This button allows you to allow the DNS cache service to build the DNS records for an Active Directory realm based on the Active Directory connections parameters.
- A form is displayed and allows you to list all Active Directory connections.
- Select the Active Directory connection you need to cache
- Give the IP address of your Active Directory you want to resolve.
- Set the cache TTL you want the DNS provide to clients.
After creating the record, you will see a specific AD Type in the list with the following pattern
[ipaddress]:[netbiosname]:[realm ObjectGuid]:[nTDSDSA uuid]
